Heart Line Center

The words vision, faith and peace summarize Samuel H.Tirtamihardja’s description of their journey towards realizing their new Heartline Center.  Samuel is the Director/President of YASKI & Heartline Network.

It all began in 1976 while operating in a bedroom of a house in 32, Jl Empu Sendok. YASKI already did cassette distribution, radio production and spiritual songs production back then.  Their location was prone to flooding.  Then the thought came to Samuel H.T., “Why can’t Christian ministries have better facilities like those of the commercial world?”  After sometime, YASKI was able to transfer to an office building south of Jakarta.  Four years passed and the dream of better facilities surfaced anew.  In 1980, YASKI was able to acquire a one-hectare land for Rp40 million but never had the chance to develop it.  In 1994 the land had to be sold at Rp120 million in favor of transferring to a new building at Lebon Jeruk.  Samuel said that although they were quite satisfied with the new facility, they have not abandoned the vision of a grand radio and communication training facility.

Finally in 1999 (six years later) YASKI was able to acquire a land in the prime area of Lippo Karawaci.   “Of course, it was understandable to build an office there as the Radio Heartline FM has been located there since 1998,” said Samuel H.T.  Its acquisition required a lot of faith as YASKI approached the developer to pay an agreement fee initially and not sure when the rest of the funds needed will come in.  But as it happened the developer agreed.  Thereafter, a monthly installment of Rp250 million per month was required.  It turned out that YASKI did not fail on its obligations until the full amount for the land was paid for in 2001. “Praise the Lord!” says Samuel.

He believes that for a vision to be realized faith was necessary.  And faith is all about acting on one’s belief.  Time to act as construction began.  YASKI strongly believed in the vision of training people for the future of Indonesia.  Part of this dream is a great facility to conduct communications training as part and parcel of YASKI’s radio ministry.  Samuel testifies that by faith, the dream facility was finally realized in 2005, when on the 19th of September that year the YASKI staff moved in despite the partially completed building. And he thanks all his team members, colleagues and ministry partners both in Indonesia and elsewhere in the world for all their prayers, hard work and sacrificial giving towards the fulfillment of this dream facility.

Last November, 2006 the Heartline Center was inaugurated on the occasion of YASKI’s 37th year anniversary.  The prayer and hope for this facility is to see 6000 people trained there by 2013.
